Rhythm Management
Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT), also known as bi-ventricular pacing, re-coordinates the beating of the two ventricles by pacing both ventricles.
In combination with stable medical management, CRT is a proven treatment for some patients with heart failure-induced conduction disturbances and ventricular dyssynchrony. CRT is usually recommended for patients with Class III or IV heart failure, severe systolic dysfunction and intraventricular conduction delay or bundle branch block. Resynchronization may improve the heart's pumping performance and reverse the effects of adverse ventricular remodeling.
