Overview

The Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Westchester Medical Center provides evaluation, diagnosis and management of patients with pulmonary and critical illnesses. Our team provides outpatient and inpatient consultative services as well as management of patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit, Respiratory Step-Down Unit, Respiratory Therapy, Blood Gas Laboratory, and Pulmonary Function Laboratory. We also manage an active Sleep Center and Sleep Laboratory to diagnose and treat sleep disorders.

Our Pulmonary and Critical Care services are designed to diagnose and treat chronic and acute lung conditions and breathing disorders in pulmonary and critically ill patients.

Services provided by the Department of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine include:

  • Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy
  • Pleural Biopsy
  • Pre-operative Evaluations
  • Outpatient Pulmonary Clinic
  • Pulmonary Laboratory: providing complete pulmonary function tests, oxygen titration, asthma provocation and exercise pulmonary testing.
  • Sleep Center
