Dr. Andrew Bauerschmidt is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at New York Medical College.
Dr. Bauerschmidt received both his bachelor's and master's degrees in neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University, followed by medical school at Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He was awarded the Doris Duke Clinical Research fellowship allowing him to pursue a one-year clinical research fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine. He continued his clinical training at Columbia University Medical Center where he completed residency in neurology, followed by a two-year clinical fellowship in neurocritical care at the joint Columbia/Cornell program at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Bauerschmidt joined the faculty at Westchester Medical center in June of 2021. He is particularly excited about his research, studying disorders of consciousness and resident/fellow education.
