Dr. Jeff Xu, M.D., is a board certified anesthesiologist, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Chief, Division of Regional Anesthesia & Acute Pain Management, and Program Director of Regional Anesthesiology & Acute Pain Medicine Fellowship at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College (WMC/NYMC). Since founding the Regional Anesthesia Service in 2015, Dr. Xu has been pivotal in the education of anesthesia resident and the evolution of clinical policies at WMC. In 2016, he initiated the Regional Anesthesiology & Acute Pain Medicine Fellowship Program and served as the Program Director.
Before he joined WMC/NYMC, as the Director of Regional Anesthesia & Acute Pain Services at Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC), VA, through his development of the Acute Pain Service and his time as chairman of Multidisciplinary Acute Pain Managing Committee, Dr. Xu dramatically increased the HCAHPS pain management satisfaction score from ~50% to 72% at RRMC.
Dr. Xu also has many roles outside of the WMC community including committee member in the Educational Track Subcommittee of Regional Anesthesia for American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA), Practice Management Committee for American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA), Pain Management Committee for the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists (NYSSA), as well as the reviewer for PubMed Indexed Journals.
Dr. Xu is an active member of the research community with many publications in the field of regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine. His clinical research Interests are regional anesthesia and perioperative pain management.
