Welcome to the Advanced Adult Epilepsy Program at Westchester Medical Center, which brings comprehensive epilepsy care to adults throughout the Hudson Valley. Our program excels in connecting individuals, many of whom have complex epilepsy conditions, with providers who are board-certified in epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology, and neurology.

We care for patients across the full epilepsy spectrum, from those presenting with first-time seizures to those suffering from refractory epilepsy. Under the leadership of Manisha Holmes, MD (Section Chief, Division of Epilepsy), we bring expertise in the newest seizure medications, treating epilepsy through pregnancy, neuromodulation, and surgical evaluation.

  • Evaluation and management of seizures
  • Outpatient routine and ambulatory EEG
  • In-patient video EEG monitoring in our Epilepsy Monitoring Unit for characterization of events, medication adjustment, and surgical work up
  • The most advanced neuromodulation device management (including responsive neurostimulation, deep brain stimulation and vagus nerve stimulation)

Additionally, the epilepsy division works closely with neurosurgery and radiology to provide advanced imaging such as PET and high-resolution MRI, minimally invasive options for surgical evaluation and treatment such as Stereo EEG and laser ablation.
