Volunteer. Assist. "SAAVE."

Westchester Medical Center seeks volunteers to play a vital, supportive role in its soon-to-launch Sexual Assault Abuse and Victim's Empowerment Program (SAAVE). Volunteers are asked to commit to a year of service of monthly shifts staffing Westchester Medical Center's new, 24-hour rape crisis hotline and assisting victims, as well as attending approximately 10 mandatory meetings/trainings throughout the year.

A 30-hour pre-service curriculum is required for all volunteers. The 30-hour training is now scheduled to occur over three days: Saturday, October 20, Saturday, November 3, and Sunday, November 4, 2018.

All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.  Bilingual in English and Spanish and a valid driver's license are pluses. For more information about volunteering and to sign up for the training, please e-mail Licia.Sandberg@wmchealth.org or call 914-493-6615.
