Welcome to WMC Headache Specialists

WMC Headache Specialists is New York metropolitan area's first integrated academic multidisciplinary center focused on the care and surgical cure of headaches. Led by renowned authorities in the fields of Medicine, Neurology, Pain Management, Psychiatry, and Reconstructive Surgery, WMC Headache Specialists is able to provide comprehensive care for patients with challenging diagnosis of chronic headache and pain that are not getting adequate relief with standard treatments.

The WMC multidisciplinary team has the ability to communicate with referring physicians and help manage the complex headache symptoms with state of the art diagnostic and therapeutic interventions including surgical decompression of the responsible peripheral nerves which in our experience has led to over 90% relief of symptoms. Many of our referred patients no longer have a need for prescription medications and have been able to return to their normal daily activity and lead normal pain-free lives.

Upon calling Westchester Medical Center Headache Specialists, you will speak to a member of our trained staff and make your initial consultation with one of our headache focused internists. We request that you fill out our Headache Intake Form found on our website prior to your first appointment. At your initial consultation we will review your intake form which is a vital piece to your initial assessment and proper diagnosis of your headache. Dependent upon your past medical history the internist will decide if blood work, imaging, or any further testing is necessary to better diagnose and treat your headaches.

What to Expect

headache painFrom Internal Medicine an appointment will be made for you to be seen by one of our sub specialists, neurology or pain management, where they will review lab and imaging studies and tailor a proper treatment plan including but not limited to oral medications, Botox, or one of our minimally invasive procedures.

Dependent upon the outcome of such treatment techniques you may be referred for Surgical Evaluation. Approximately 10% of Migraine sufferers are candidates for surgical cure. At this point there will be a consultation where you will meet with our expert surgeon to further discuss this cutting edge procedure.

Throughout your journey you will be followed by our patient navigator who is a Physician Assistant and will be there to answer any medical or treatment questions that may arise throughout your treatment with Westchester Medical Center Headache Specialists.
