2019 WMC Safety & Security Workshop

Course Description

Because of your commitment to the patient, family and workforce experiences at Westchester Medical Center, you have been selected to participate in an important Safety and Security Tabletop Exercise on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.  This training will be delivered by the Westchester County Department of Public Safety (WCPD), as part of our ongoing review of policies, procedures and practices related to safety and security in our organization.

The exercise will provide training and practical guidance in working together to respond to an active shooter event. The training focuses on the critical decisions that would need to be made in the first minutes and afterwards following such a large-scale event. 
 
Delivered in two parts over four (4) hours, WCPD will deliver the first portion of the training session that will impart run-hide-fight responses and other safety principles. The second part of the program is a facilitated interactive tabletop exercise where WCPD will assist our participants through scenarios. The goal is to offer all members of the Valhalla Campus workforce an opportunity to participate in this program during 2019.
